So, here we are. Three or four years since the world shut down and we were more or less housebound. Happy to report that we have been back on track and a further down the path exploring the byways of this extraordinary and very beautiful country.

The colours this late autumn have been stunning. I’m always amazed at the tapestries painted by golden gingko. red and maroon Japanese maples, maples, beech, and rowan.

I’ll be spending 3 months here in Japan this autumn and winter, and returning to guide in March 2026.
